I was born on the 3rd of March 1990 in Breda, a small town in the South of The Netherlands. I’ve been drawing all my life but I started getting serious about my art when I was 17. Since then I’ve been working hard to improve my skills, both on my own and through being taught and doing workshops at various institutions. From 2010 to 2013 I studied at Atelier Stockholm, The Swedish Academy of Realist Art. During this time I not only improved a lot in terms of technical skill, it also made me realize more what direction I wanted to take with my art.

I’m especially inspired by late 19th century and early 20th century art. This not only includes painting and drawing, but also more graphical mediums such as ukiyo-e and lithographs. By adding my own vision to that inspiration, I end up with art that is timeless and rooted in tradition. With my imaginative work I usually strive to communicate a certain mood or atmosphere. The images I paint are often set in nature, and usually have mysterious and magical themes. I am fascinated by the connection between man and nature, the sensual and the exotic.
